“…We appreciated the article by Elahi et al, 1 but we missed the credit to our paper from 2008 describing the transconjunctival insertion of gold weights in 13 patients. 2 We have promoted this technique in several meetings, including in the 2013 ASOPRS fall meeting with a poster entitled “Upper eyelid contour analysis after posterior insertion of gold weight.” In this poster, we have shown that the most common contour abnormality in patients with long-term postoperative time was a flattening of the central portion of the eyelid associated with ptosis. A few years later (2016), a second paper on this technique “Short incision, posterior approach upper eyelid gold weight implantation” was rejected in OPRS.…”
