“…Mesenchymal stem cells have been characterized from feline, canine, equine and human amniotic membrane tissues, which are reported to be good sources of mesenchymal‐like stem cells (Bačenková, Rosocha, Tóthová, Rosocha, & Šarisský, ; Park, Seo, Kim, & Kang, ; Urânio et al., ; Vidane et al., ; de Vita et al., ). These cells of amniotic membranes have been used for wound and corneal reconstruction in animals and humans with favourable results (Moreira & Oliveira, ; de Vita et al., ).
