Abstract: RESUMO Obesidade tem alto prevalência na população geral gerando custos econômicos para a sociedade. Indivíduos obesos apresentam risco maior de desenvolver de diabetes mellitus, doenças cardiovasculares, dislipidemia, e outras doenças crônicas como a Síndrome da Apnéia Obstrutiva do Sono (SAOS).
