Loving God, loving nature? Intrinsic values, stewardship, and reverence for nature

Abstract: Most approaches in environmental ethics that contemplate the normativity of intrinsic values rely on the idea of love or reverence for nature. This paper challenges the need to love nature in order to respect it as a value in itself (i.e., as an intrinsic value).
