Abstract: Type I Chiari malformation (MCI) is a generally congenital condition of herniation of the cerebellar tonsils below the foramen magnum, which can lead to compression of structures close to the posterior cranial fossa or obstruction of the flow of ventral cerebrospinal fluid.
