Abstract:Resumo No século XIX, existiram duas faculdades de Direito no Brasil, uma em São Paulo e outra em Olinda (posteriormente transferida para o Recife), ambas fundadas em 1827. O objetivo do presente artigo é analisar como o negro se inseria em tais faculdades no período imperial, sob a ótica de três aspectos diferentes, mas complementares: exclusão, preconceito e apagamento.
