Mineral chemistry and crystallization parameters of the A-type Paleoproterozoic Bannach Granite, Carajás Province, Pará, Brazil

Abstract: The A-type Paleoproterozoic Bannach Granite belongs to the Jamon Suíte and cross-cut the Archean units of the Rio Maria Domain in the Carajás Province. It comprises eight facies with varied mafic content and texture: even-grained cumulate granite (CG), even coarse-grained biotite-amphibole monzogranite (cBAMz), even coarse-grained amphibole-biotite monzogranite (cABMz), porphyritic biotite monzogranite (pBMz), even coarse-grained leucomonzogranite (cLMz), early even medium-grained leucomonzogranite (EmLMz), la… Show more

“…The clay diffractogram in Figure 4 b identified quartz, hematite, and kaolinite phases. The ORPS diffractogram in Figure 4 c presented mainly peaks of quartz and calcite and minor peaks of annite and albite in agreement with Mesquita, Dall’Agnol, and Almeida [ 37 ] and Lima et al [ 38 ]. Minor peaks of silicate minerals from the mica and feldspar groups were also found in ORPS.…”

“…Esses dados mostram-se coerentes e estão nos intervalos descritos para cristalização de biotita em corpos sieníticos da literatura (e.g. Anderson, 1980;Mesquita et al, 2018). A pressão máxima de cristalização da biotita foi de 2,2 kbar, utilizando-se o geobarômetro de Al na biotita de Uchida et al (2007), que corresponde a 8 km de profundidade, sendo coerente com o fato de a biotita ser o último mineral máfico magmático a se formar em condições mais rasas.…”

“…In the Paleoproterozoic (~1.88-1.86 Ga), the Archean terranes of the CP were intersected by anorogenic granitic plutons and batholiths, and by associated mafic and felsic dike ( Javier Rios et al 1995, Mesquita et al 2018, Dall' Agnol et al 2005, Silva et al 2016.…”
