Heliantheae s.l. (Asteraceae) do Parque Estadual do Biribiri, Diamantina, Estado de Minas Gerais, Brasil

Abstract

-(Heliantheae s.l. (Asteraceae) from Parque Estadual do Biribiri, Diamantina, Minas Gerais State, Brazil). Heliantheae s.l., the third largest tribe in the Asteraceae family, has 48 genera and 379 species in Brazil, with 199 species restricted to this country. The tribe is very representative of Espinhaço Range flora, which presents a great diversity and endemism. This work presents the taxonomic treatment of Heliantheae s.l. of Parque Estadual do Biribiri (PEB), located in the Espinhaço Range, Diamantina municipality, Minas Gerais State. It provides an identification key, morphological description, geographic distribution, and taxonomic commentaries for each species. The tribe Heliantheae s.l. in PEB has nine genera and 16 species: Acanthospermum, Aldama, Cosmos, Dimerostemma, Galinsoga, and Melampodium (one species each); Aspilia and Bidens (three spp. each), and Calea (four spp.). The PEB has a great number of species Heliantheae s.l. compared with other areas of Minas Gerais State, and it has 12.5% of its species restricted to Minas Gerais State, revealing the importance of this park to protect the flora of Espinhaço Range.

The taxonomic utility of micromorphology in Lepidaploa (Vernonieae: Asteraceae)

Birds of Parque Estadual Do Biribiri, Central Espinhaço Range, Brazil

“…PEBI species richness (172 bird species) is similar to other surveys carried out in Cerrado areas in Brazil, which generally present between 151 -287 species (see Rodrigues et al 2005, Marçal Júnior et al 2009, Rodrigues et al 2011, Vitorino et al 2018, corresponding to approximately 20% of the bird species of Cerrado (Silva & Santos 2005). Habitat diversity in the study area is distributed in a mosaic landscape (Marques & Nakajima 2015), that offer a variety of habitat types for animal and plant species inserted in an ecotone between the two major hotspots in Brazil: the Cerrado and the Atlantic Forest (Myers et al 2000, Pereira et al 2015. The species accumulation curve presented here suggests that future studies combining different methodologies could add more species to this list (Sutherland et al 2005;Somenzari et al 2011).…”

A tribo Miconieae (Melastomataceae) no Parque Estadual do Biribiri, Diamantina, Minas Gerais, Brasil

“…Até recentemente a flora do Parque Estadual do Biribiri (PEB) era pouco conhecida, porém nos últimos anos, vem sendo alvo de inventários de importantes famílias de Angiospermas (Andrino 2013;Montini 2013;Franco et al 2014;Marques & Nakajima 2015), mostrando a alta diversidade da área. Dando continuidade aos estudos no parque, o presente trabalho apresenta o tratamento taxonômico da tribo Miconieae, fornecendo chave analítica de identificação para as espécies, descrições morfológicas, ilustrações e dados de distribuição geográfica.…”
