Abstract: This article analyzes two recurrent elements on the three first-year issues (1902)(1903)(1904) of Stella d'Italia, a Porto Alegre's newspaper edited in italian, specifically the dissatisfaction with the condition of the Italian education in Porto Alegre, and the fuss involving the Italian consul Enrico Ciapelli, which resulted in the interruption of school materials being delivered to Italian schools kept by the Italian societies that supported the newspaper.
