Abstract:RESUMO Strychnos L. (Loganiaceae) é um gênero pantropical compreendendo cerca de 70 espécies no Novo Mundo; sendo 54 delas encontradas no Brasil, cujo centro de diversidade é a Amazônia. Habitam principalmente florestas ombrófilas densas, mas também restingas e cerrados.
