Chrysobalanaceae s.l., one of the few suprafamilial subclades of Malpighiales that is supported by molecular phylogenetic analyses, and containing Chrysobalanaceae, Dichapetalaceae, Euphroniaceae, and Trigoniaceae, was comparatively studied with regard to floral structure. The subclade is well supported by floral structure. Potential synapomorphies for Chrysobalanaceae s.l. are the following shared features: floral cup; flowers obliquely monosymmetric; sepals congenitally united at base; sepals of unequal size (outer two shorter); fertile stamens concentrated on the anterior side of the flower and sometimes united into a strap; staminodes absent in the posteriormost antepetalous position; anthers extremely introrse, with thecae almost in one plane; endothecium continuous over the dorsal side of the connective; dorsal anther pit; gynoecium completely syncarpous up to the stigma; carpel flanks slightly bulged out transversely and thus carpels demarcated from each other by a longitudinal furrow; flowers with dense unicellular, non-lignified hairs, especially on the gynoecium; light-coloured, dense indumentum on young shoots and inflorescences. Potential synapomorphies for Chrysobalanaceae + Euphroniaceae include: spur in floral cup; clawed petals; lignified hairs on petals; nectary without lobes or scales and mostly annular. Potential synapomorphies for Dichapetalaceae + Trigoniaceae include: special mucilage cells in sepals in mesophyll (in addition to epidermis); anthers almost basifixed; gynoecium synascidiate up to lower style; nectary with lobes or scales and semi-annular.

Titulo en ingles: Phytochemical and Bromatologic characterization of Dichapetalum spruceanumvell.affinis silvester plant of the Colombian Orinoquia and use potentiality.RESUMEN: Dichapetalum spruceanum vell.affinis (DICHAPETALACEAE), es una especie espontánea del departamento del Casanare en la Orinoquia Colombiana, la cual ha sido poco estudiada y considerada una maleza para los cultivos que se desarrollan en esa zona; dentro del marco del proyecto Caracterización fitoquímica y bromatológica de Dichapetalum spruceanum, planta silvestre subexplotada de la Orinoquia Colombiana, financiado por el Instituto de Investigaciones de la Orinoquia Colombiana (IIOC), se desarrollo un estudio acerca de la composición fitoquímica y bromatológica de la raíz o xilopodio con miras a determinar su potencialidad de uso, teniendo en cuenta su amplia distribución y su gran tamaño másico (12kg promedio). Esta especie está asociada a suelos húmedos ubicados en terrazas medias y bajas y en zonas de vega principalmente; dentro de los metabolitos secundarios característicos se encontraron alcaloides, compuestos cardiotónicos y cumarinas, así como su alto contenido de nutrientes digestibles totales (87,65 %), que sumado a los resultados del análisis bromatológico permiten vislumbrar la potencialidad que esta especie tiene como recurso para biocombustibles y para alimentación animal.Palabras clave: Recurso florístico, Orinoquía, fitoquímica, bromatología, metabolitos secundarios.ABSTRACT: Dichapetalum cf. spruceanum (DICHAPETALACEAE), is a spontaneous specie of Casanare department at colombian Orinoquia, which has been few studied and it has been considered weeds in the crops developed in this area; in the frame of project Characterization phytochemical and bromatologic of Dichapetalum cf. spruceanum wild plant underexploited at colombian Orinoquia, sponsor for Instituto de Investigaciones de la Orinoquia Colombiana (IIOC), was developed a study about phytochemical and bromatologic composition of root to determine its use potentiality, having on count its wide distribution and big mass size (12kg average). Was found that this specimen is associated to humid soils placed in middle and lower terraces and floodplains mainly; within the characteristic secondary metabolites were found alkaloids, cardiotonics compounds and cumarines, as well as, a high content of total digestible nutrients (87.65 %), added to the other results of bromatologic analysis allowed to think in the potentiality that this plant has as biofuel and animal feeding resource.Key Words: Floristic resource, Orinoquia, phytochemical, bromatology, secondary metabolites
