Abstract: RESUMO Os autores descrevem minuciosamente a anatomia comparada do lenho das espécies Weinmannia hirta Swartz e W. paulliniaefolia Pohl, bem como resumem as suas propriedades gerais, aplicações e ocorrência no Brasil, objetivando principalmente a organização de chaves dicotômicas para identificação e/ou determinação dos gêneros e espécies indígenas, produtoras de madeiras ou outros produtos florestais.
