Manoel Baragiola, and Connected Histories between Gymnastics from Turin and São Paulo, 1895

Abstract: In this study, we will analyze the representations in gymnastics teaching based on Gymnastica nas aulas, a manual published in 1895 by Manoel Baragiola. He was the teacher responsible for the gymnastics and military exercise classes at Escola Normal de São Paulo and sought to develop a model for classes through debates on gymnastic methods in the country and abroad.
