School burnout constitutes a current phenomenon which generates diverse negative consequences in the personal and academic lives of students. Given this situation, it is necessary to develop actions that permit us to regulate this harmful mental state and that are administered from within the school context. A descriptive and cross-sectional study is presented that pursues the objective of examining a structural equation model which brings together burnout and emotional regulation. The model assumes that students receive tutoring at school in order to tackle these types of problems. For this, the sample constituted a total of 569 students from the province of Granada (men = 52.3% (n = 298); women = 47.7% (n = 271)). Mean age was reported as 10.39 ± 0.95 years and the School Burnout Inventory (BMI) and the Emotional Regulation Scale were utilized as the principal instruments. As main findings it was observed that students who received one hour of weekly tutoring showed a positive relationship between expressive suppression as a strategy of emotional regulation, cynicism, and exhaustion as consequences of school burnout. In the same way, a direct association existed between burnout-related exhaustion and cognitive repair. Given that significant relationships could not be observed between these variables in students who do not receive tutoring, higher use of emotional regulation was confirmed amongst tutored students when faced with this negative mental state.

O burnout está ligado a diminuição do desempenho acadêmico, podendo gerar mudanças comportamentais que ocasionam problemas diários no âmbito educacional, social e psicológico. O objetivo deste estudo foi realizar uma revisão integrativa de literatura visando explorar os instrumentos que estão sendo utilizados atualmente para mensuração de burnout em estudantes. A pesquisa foi realizada nas bases de dados: PsycInfo, PubMed, Scielo e Redalyc, e, após aplicação dos critérios de inclusão, 34 artigos contemplaram o objetivo desta pesquisa. Os resultados indicaram que o instrumento mais utilizado atualmente é o Maslach Burnout Inventory-Student Survey, sendo a maior parte da amostra dos estudos pesquisados composta de estudantes do ensino superior. A utilização dos instrumentos buscava verificar associações com aspectos de saúde mental, levantar evidências de validade de medidas e desenvolver intervenções para diminuir efeitos do burnout. Sinaliza-se a relevância de estudos futuros que busquem avaliar a adaptação global do indivíduo em ambientes educacionais.

RESUMO: Este estudo buscou revisar sistematicamente a literatura acadêmica a fim de responder a seguinte questão norteadora: "Quais os parâmetros metodológicos adotados em pesquisas sobre o Estresse Ocupacional e a Síndrome de Burnout nos últimos 2 anos de produção científica internacional?". Incluíram-se artigos publicados entre janeiro de 2019 e janeiro de 2021 nas plataformas SciELO e LILACS/BVS. Dos 3314 trabalhos inicialmente encontrados, 150 foram selecionados após a aplicação das etapas de filtragem, sendo as maiores prevalências observadas: artigos de 2019 (77/66,7%), de autores brasileiros (100/66,7%), da área de Enfermagem (61/40,7%), com desenho Transversal (111/74%) e Quantitativo (138/92%). Nesse sentido, reitera-se a importância de se conhecer as principais características e delineamentos do referencial bibliográfico do Estresse Ocupacional e da Síndrome de Burnout a fim de que se possa garantir a continuidade de pesquisas futuras sobre o tema.
