RIDESA is a a network of ten public Federal Universities that have successfully developed sugarcane cultivars adapted to different environments and agricultural managements enabling cultivation in more than 9 million hectares in Brazil (Carneiro et al 2016, Daros et al 2017, 2018, Carneiro et al 2019.
