“…Neste estudo buscou-se verificar o efeito da dança educativa no desenvolvimento motor geral da criança de 2 a 4 anos de idade, com peso elevado para idade, uma vez que, dados recentes demonstram que crianças com peso elevado apresentam desenvolvimento motor inferior ao da criança com peso adequado 17,18 . Os resultados da pesquisa evidenciaram que crianças com peso elevado apresentam desenvolvimento motor inferior ao de crianças com peso adequado corroborando a literatura, mas, após a intervenção por meio da dança educativa observou-se uma melhora significativa no desenvolvimento motor destas crianças, reforçando a ideia de que a dança é um recurso adequado para estimular o desenvolvimento motor da criança, em diferentes faixas etárias 19 .
