Adaptação de Bebês à Creche: Aspectos que Facilitam ou não esse Período1

Abstract: For many children, daycare is the first regular experience of receiving non-maternal care, so that special attention should be paid to the adjustment period. This study's objective was to investigate, from the mothers' perspectives, the aspects that facilitated or did not facilitate the adjustment of six-month-old babies to daycare. “…The findings documented that process quality increased over time across both types of ECEC (centres and homes), with the duration or amount of time in the programme significantly related to quality change. In a QRIS six-month intervention involving 52 home-based providers, results revealed a positive impact of the intervention on the observed quality scores (measured through the Family Child Care Environment Rating Scale-Revised) and at the 6-month follow-up, although no effect appeared on the overall QRIS rating (Boller, Paulsell and Raikes, 2015 [98]). Possible explanations for finding a positive impact of the quality improvement intervention on quality scores but not on QRIS scores may relate to the way the QRIS overall ratings are computed.…”

“…Incidentally, PD support -or, at least, some forms of it -might well play a role in staff well-being. As Boller and colleagues (2015 [98]) discuss about the success of QRIS intervention, one of the main disruptions in delivering such an intervention relates to staff turnover. The authors conclude that investments in the early childhood workforce may improve staff satisfaction and retention, which can help sustain PD effects.…”

“…A saúde materna pode ser aliviada à medida que as crianças criam vínculos com a creche e seus profissionais, entretanto esse fato não retira a responsabilidade das mães pelas crianças, de modo que foi evidenciado pelos relatos o papel materno de comunicação, capacitação e orientação dos professores e cuidadores da criança no âmbito da creche, especialmente na fase de adaptação das crianças (BOSSI;BRITES;PICCININI, 2017;GRANDE et al, 2017).…”

“…These spaces allow for the identification of risk factors for developmental delays; among them, socioeconomic level, housing, schooling of parents/caregivers, and child vulnerability. 5 The expressive growth in the insertion of children in early childhood education centers is evident, 6 with an increase of 84.6% in the number of enrollments in Brazilian daycare centers in the last eight years, 7 following the worldwide trend that had a growth of 64.0% in enrollments between 1999 and 2012. 6 However, in order to be a favorable environment for children's development, daycare centers must offer quality services capable of promoting CDS.…”

According to a study, 8, the quality of the nursery environment, that is, the physical structure, the human resources available and the care provided to the child, added to other extrinsic factors, such as greater maternal education and longer time spent in the nursery, positively influence motor development of the children who attend this educational environment.…”
