Background: The biggest issue for any paediatric dentist, despite the many advancements in the field of paediatric dentistry, is to reduce patient anxiety associated with dental visits and encourage them to accept the necessary care. In order to establish a good relationship with the child, the dentist's presentation is crucial. Aim: To assess the children’s perception and preference towards the dentist’s appearance, dental clinic set-up. Materials and Methods: A questionnaire designed to evaluate children’s attitudes and preferences towards dentists was distributed in public schools and was completed by 1012 children (459 males, 553 females) aged between 7–13 years. Data collected was entered into a computer and analyzed using SPSS software. Descriptive and inferential analysis was carried out. Results: For about 526 children (52%) it was their first visit while 486 children (48%) had been to the dentist before. Children’s preferred attire for receptionists was casual clothes (50.2%) while for the dentist, most of them (42.7%) preferred scrubs. Most (69.1%) of the children were not scared with the use of PPE kit. Conclusion: The findings of this study can assist dentists in determining what to wear when working with kids to lessen their anxiety and enhance healthcare delivery.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), originated in Wuhan, China. The disease has now affected more than 100 countries around the world. In the light of the WHO declaring COVID-19 as a public health emergency of international concern, despite global efforts to prevent the spreading of the disease, the cases are still increasing. Dentistry is facing its darkest hour, with the growth and spread of this pandemic. Dental surgeons are among the highest risk because they are in direct contact with saliva. COVID-19 had a serious impact on the dental profession. There are lot many articles published relating to Dentistry and the disease. But dentistry has various specialties and each of them has specific therapeutic considerations. The article concisely elaborates specific considerations in various specialties in dentistry. Los profesionales de la salud oral tienen un mayor riesgo de infección con el nuevo coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19), debido a la comunicación cercana a la cavidad oral y la exposición a saliva, sangre y otros fluidos corporales. Los enfoques digitales pueden reducir el tiempo clínico y contribuir a limitar el riesgo de infección. El objetivo del presente trabajo es presentar un enfoque digital para restaurar un diente anterior traumatizado, durante la pandemia de COVID-19. Paciente sexo feminino de 28 años, con movilidad anormal de la pieza 1.1 y antecedente de traumatismo dental en la adolescencia. Se realizó una evaluación inicial para detectar signos y síntomas de una posible infección por COVID-19. Las imágenes de la tomografía computarizada mostraron fractura coronaria y presencia de reabsorción cervical externa en el incisivo central derecho. El plan de tratamiento consistió en la rehabilitación del diente fracturado a través de una restauración retenida con un poste de fibra de vidrio, usando un abordaje digital por medio de un escáner intraoral con diseño y fabricación asistido por computadora (CAD/CAM). Los enfoques digitales en odontología podrían contribuir a reducir el riesgo de infección por COVID-19 en pacientes y dentistas durante los tratamientos restauradores.
