Review of follow-up of clinical success of implant-supported complete dental prostheses

Abstract: Objective Methods By means of a literature review focused on published articles with clinical follow-up between 8 and 15 years. Results Implants placed in the mandible had higher success rates than those inserted in the maxilla. Cases with longer follow-up periods, 15 years, showed higher success rates in comparison with follow-up periods of 8 and 10 years. Conclusion Success rates of implant-supported complete dental prostheses are very high. Indexing terms: Complete dental prostheses. Dental implantation. Os… Show more

“…The oral implant occupies an important clinical position in the recovery of oral cavity function (Alberktsson, et al, 2008, Greco, et al, 2014 and its use is widespread in many countries. Since the strong correlation between mechanical loading and bone morphology from the microscale to the macroscale is well known, there have been many experimental and numerical studies analyzing the mechanics of the jawbone (Maki, et al, 2003, Kitagawa, et al, 2005, Kim, et al, 2012.…”
