Mervyn Susser

Abstract

, in his residence in New York, at the age of 92. Susser was a great friend of the Brazilians, having collaborated for many years as a member of the Editorial Board of the Brazilian Journal of Epidemiology. He had great influence on the field of Epidemiology during the second half of the 20 th century, and also in the beginning of the 21 st , especially with respect to the methodological and philosophycal aspects of epidemiology plus the relationship between health and society.
