Processing of Copper Based Foil Hardened with Zirconia by Non-Deformation Method

Abstract: Flat sintered copper and copper-zirconia substrates, with zirconia nanoparticles contents of 1 and 3 vol%, were produced by aqueous tape casting and controlled sintering. Aqueous suspensions were prepared to a solid content of 58 vol% using 3 wt% commercial binder emulsion. The green tapes were treated at 350 ºC in air to remove organics and sintered at temperatures ranging from 800 to 1000 ºC in atmosphere of Ar/5%H 2 . Copper tapes reached almost full densification at 900 ºC. Composite with 1 vol% zirconia, … Show more

“…The theoretical resolution of an optical microscope, not taking into account optical aberrations, using white light is about 0.2 microns. However, more realistically, the measurement of film with a thickness of less than one micron is difficult and has a consistent uncertainty [73][74][75][76]. with a Calo tester; r is the radius of the sphere; x is the difference between the radius of the crater and radius of the part of the crater at the bottom of the coating; y is diameter of the crater from which it is subtracted x.…”

“…It can be observed from Figs. 13(a-c), that with increasing the applied normal load during wear tests, the abrasive wear rate of pure copper and Cu-ZrO 2 nanocomposite increases 20,21 . Applied load affects the wear rate of compacts significantly and is the most dominating factor controlling the wear behavior.…”

“…The shortcoming of ex-situ method is that nano-sized oxide dispersoids can be homogeneously dispersed in the copper matrix 20 . Meanwhile, the bonding between the particles and the copper matrix is poor.…”
