Effect of Cupric Salts (Cu (NO3)2, CuSO4, Cu(CH3COO)2) on Cu2(OH)PO4 Morphology for Photocatalytic Degradation of 2,4-dichlorophenol under Near-infrared light irradiation

Abstract: Cu 2 (OH)PO 4 microstructures were synthesized by the hydrothermal method using three different types cupric salts (Cu (NO 3 ) 2 , CuSO 4 , Cu(CH 3 COO) 2 ) as raw materials. The X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and UV-visible-NIR absorption spectra were used to characterize the as-obtained products. The different anions (SO 4 2-, CH 3 COO -, NO 3-) have different shapes and polarities, which can generate different interactions in reaction bath, induced the difference of structure an… Show more

“…In Figure 5, it is possible to observe peaks at 2h ¼ 8.86 , 15.34 , and 17.76 in the CG-CuNPs spectrum which are also seen in CuSO 4 (Inorganic Crystal Structure Database). 21 CG, used as a stabilizer, presented a broad peak around 2h ¼ 23 because of the characteristic highly amorphous nature of this polymer. 22,23 Meanwhile, ascorbic acid showed peaks at 2h ¼ 12.08 and 13.44 in accordance with data from the Cambridge Structural Database.…”

“…The sample before etching produced by using nonpurged media was further analyzed, and the results demonstrate the phase transition from Cu 2 S to Cu 2– x S, confirmed by GIXRD patterns (Figure e). In addition, the low-magnification TEM image verifies the presence of chiral self-assembled Cu 2– x S MTs (Figure g), and the high-magnification TEM image also illustrates the formation of chiral self-assembled Cu 2– x S MTs by assembling the building block NPs (Figure h).…”

“…3 ), acetate (CH 3 COO − ), chloride (Cl − ) and sulphate (SO 2− 4 ) vary, they lead to different types of interactions in the reaction bath, hence, the properties of the copper oxide nanoparticles are seen to be different so also, the antibacterial efficacy [5].…”
