Do heart rate variability is relationed to endurance performance in female futsal players?

Abstract: The study aimed to verify the correlation between resting heart rate variability (HRVrest) and endurance performance in female futsal players, as well as to evaluate the reliability of this parasympathetic autonomic marker. A total of 16 female futsal players (age: 22 ± 3 years; VO2max: 42.3 ± 2.0 ml.kg-1.min-1) were evaluated during the first week of preseason training. Vagal modulation was evaluated from the HRVrest (i.e., log-transformed root mean square of successive R-R interval differences - Ln-RMSSD) fo… Show more

“…Monitoring resting, exercise, and fatigue status provides insights into the magnitude of internal training load and adaptation to training 3 . Some studies reported a relationship between external training load and physiological adaptions in athletes performing high intensity intermittent sports 4,5 . Autonomic nervous system (ANS) function, assessed by heart rate variability (HRV), is a measure of training status and physiological adaptations to training 6,7 .…”

“…For example, the design of the device can be modified to be more ergonomic or lightweight, so that the subject can perform physical activity easier. In addition, safety measures can also be enhanced to minimize the risk of injury or discomfort that may occur during the test (Blom, 2020;Brake, 2020;Pinto, 2021;Svensson, 2020). It is important to note that the modification of VO2Max devices should be carried out carefully and in a controlled environment.…”
