SYNTHETIC BIOLOGY AND GENETIC MANIPULATION: Risks, promises and responsibilities

Abstract: As a result of the biotechnological advance, synthetic biology has been applied from the improvement of food to the creation of new organisms. This article investigates, from a bioethical perspective, the benefits, risks and threats to life, arising from the production, manipulation and, especially, the creation of synthesized DNAs that do not exist in nature.
