Abstract: RESUMO O autor descreve a ocorrência de Pelonyssus reedi (Zump & Patterson, 1952) (Acari: Mesostigmata) em ninhos artificiais de corruira Troglodytes aedon (Passeriformes: Troglodytidae) na zona urbana de Pelotas, RS, Brasil. O relato caracteriza a primeira citação deste ácaro no Estado e parece ser a primeira citação no Brasil.
