Show more

“…Moreover, root colonization and enzymatic activity of Funneliformis coronatum associated with maize plants was also inhibited, demonstrating the fungicidal activity of this strobilurin, probably on the respiratory electron transfer within mitochondria, where succinate dehydrogenase is part of complex II ( Diedhiou et al, 2004 ). Interestingly, foliar application of azoxystrobin did not impact AM fungal root colonization ( Diedhiou et al, 2004 ; Hernández-Dorrego and Mestre-Parés, 2010 ; Campos et al, 2015 ). A similar trend was observed with kresoxim-methyl, another strobilurin fungicide ( Diedhiou et al, 2004 ).…”

“…These organisms are mostly mycophagous, consuming any kind of fungi, lichens, bacteria and organic material available in the environment (SEGAT et al, 2018). Under environmental conditions, the application of fungicides affects many organisms, including bacteria, fungi, yeasts and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi, which can serve as a source of food for springtails (JANSA; WIEM-KEN; FROSSARD, 2006;BENDING;RODRÍGUEZ-CRUZ;LINCOLN, 2007;CAMPOS et al, 2015).…”

“…Moreover, chemical fungicides can also affect root colonization by AMF as well as the number of spores [5]. Fertilization regimes have impacts on maize root-associated AMF community [6].…”
