Abstract:Resumo O presente artigo analisa a emergência de um novo repertório de ação coletiva em Portugal, os congressos associativos, procurando esclarecer a sua natureza e os seus impactos. Resulta do recenseamento e da análise dos 304 congressos associativos organizados em Portugal desde o I Congresso Social, de 1865, até a imposição do corporativismo, em 1934, bem como de 1733 teses debatidas nos mesmos.
