Abstract: Basidiospores of the ectomycorrhizal fungus Pisolithus microcarpus have an impermeable cell wall, a characteristic that is possibly related to the low germination percentages of these propagules, which makes it difficult to obtain monokaryons and use these spores in inoculants.
