Effects of Varying Essential Oil Mixture Concentrations Applied Underconditions of Different Temperature Stress on Cardiac Markers and Other Blood Parameters

Abstract: Cardiac troponin (cTnI) and erythrocyte distribution width (RDW) have been used as specific markers for the evaluation of cardiac arrhythmias and myocardial diseases. In this experimental study, we aimed to determine the dose-dependent administration of an Essential OilMixture (EOM) (Eucalyptus globulusLabill, Thymus vulgaris, Cymbopogon nardus, and Syzygiumaromaticum) on the serum erythrocyte indices and myocardial damage. We used 400 male, oneday-old, Ross-308 chicks. Each group ((n=8) (22°C Control (C), C+2… Show more

“…In contrast with our results, Pertiwi [ 75 ] reported that hydrolyzable tannins develop RBC counts per unit of blood. Also, Bayraktar and Tekce [ 76 ] found that adding essential Oil in the water had not shown a significant difference between the groups WBC, RBC, Hemoglobin (HGB), Hematocrit (HCT). The results of this study revealed that oxidized oil and alpha-tocopherol inclusion in the diet did not affect broiler hematology because none of the data were influenced by oxidized oil and alpha-tocopherol.…”

“…The remaining drinking water was also taken back and freshwater supplemented with EOM was given at the same time every day (Around 08:00 h). EOM was included in the water at rates of 250, 500, 750 mL/1000 L (Bayraktar and Tekce 2019;Tekce et al 2020) and was given to all groups at the same time every day (Around 08:00 h) except for control groups.…”

“…China) from 15.6-1 000.00 pg/ml, an intra-assay coefficient of 8.0%, and an inter-assay coefficient of 10.0% was utilised in accordance with the manufacturer's protocol. The results were evaluated by reading absorbances at 450 nm in accordance with the procedure reported in the kit (Bayraktar and Tekce 2019). A commercially available chicken BDNF (Product code: 201-16-1172; Sunred, P.R.…”

“…https://doi.org/10.17221/9/2020-VETMED Poultry farming has a strategic importance in the livestock sector because of its role in meeting the demand for animal protein (meat, eggs) brought about by the continuous increase of the world's human population (Bayraktar and Tekce 2019). Commercial egg production is a major livestock sector, which faces multiple risks throughout the production and management processes, starting from the establishment of the farm, and extending to aspects such as disease prevention, animal nutrition and animal husbandry.…”
