Experimental study on seismic response of subway station built in loess

Abstract: The present investigation is concerned with the dynamic seismic response of subway station built in loess site by a series of shaking table tests. Firstly, according to the Bockingham π theorem, the scale ratio is determined and then the model system is designed. Then, based on the geological environment and seismological background of Xi'an, the input ground motions and loading scheme are determined. On the basis of the test data, the acceleration responses of model system, strain response characteristics of … Show more

“…e numerical simulation results of loess subway stations based on the ACVAB were compared with shaking table test results [43]. Under the action of seismic waves, the acceleration response time history of the foundation in the model and corresponding Fourier spectra in the numerical simulation and shaking table test were compared, as shown in Figure 10.…”

“…To assess the applicability of the ACVAB proposed in this research to the seismic analysis of underground structures, a numerical model for seismic response of underground structures was built based on the ACVAB. e model results were compared with data from shaking table tests [43], thus allowing the analyst to determine whether the boundary is applicable to the analysis of radiation damping effects in the seismic response of underground structures.…”
