Efficacy of Eosin Dye Removal by Peanut Shell Agrowaste Adsorbent

Abstract: Peanut shell (PS) which is an excessive waste-product from agricultural processes, it can be recycled to a natural adsorbent for example it uses as removal dyes. Synthetic dye effluent without improperly discharged from industries to the river cause wastewater and damage to living organisms, especially, anionic dyes are difficult removed by conventional treatments such as biological, chemical, oxidation, and physicalfiltration. However, an adsorption treatment is widely used for decolorization of dyes and give… Show more

“…The 12 removal percentage increased within 90-91.6% as the initial concentration varied within 25-100 mg/L. The 13 driving power to overcome the resistance of the mass transfer of dye between the solution and the adsorbent 14 surface increases as the initial dye concentrations rise (Srisamai, 2021) The particle size effect is shown in Fig. 8.…”

“…The removal increased from 65.4% to 93.2% when particle size 23 decreased from 4.75 to 0.25 mm. Because adsorption is only possible on the adsorbent's external surface area as 24 small particles have a larger external surface area, an increase in the removal efficiency with the decreasing 25 particle size can be attributed to these results (Srisamai, 2021). 26…”
