Callus induction, shoot regeneration, and conservation of in vitro grown date palm (Phoenix dactylifera)

Abstract: Date palm (Phoenix dactylifera( cv. Medjool is a significant plant, grown in Jordan. In vitro propagation gives operative resources for the significant propagation of date palms. Maximum callus induction was achieved from MS media supplemented with benzyl amino purine (BA) and naphthalene acetic acid (NAA). The highest plant regeneration was recorded on MS medium supplemented with dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) at 3.0 mg/L, and BA at 2.0 mg/L.
