“…This sand fly species is present in all Brazilian States, with the exception of those in the south ( Galati 2021 ). While broad distribution of P. hirsutus is notable in Rondônia, few studies have reported this species in abundance ( Torchitte et al 2020 , Silva et al 2021 ).
