Este trabajo investigativo se centró en un estudio de tipo descriptivo con un enfoque mixto cuantitativo y cualitativo de corte transversal. De una población de estudio de 25 futbolistas se tomó como muestra intencional de 8 deportistas de la sub-23 Liga San Vicente sector Florida Alta. Tomándose los siguientes criterios de inclusión, atletas de sexo masculino, edades comprendidas entre 18-23 años, estar en buena forma física y no tener ninguna lesión al momento de realizar la prueba y el consentimiento informado. Con el objetivo de valorar la capacidad aeróbica a través del Test de Cooper en los futbolistas referidos. Para el análisis e interpretación de los resultados se utilizaron métodos empíricos como la observación y la medición, teóricos y estadísticos matemáticos empleando la estadística descriptiva para la caracterización de la muestra apoyándonos fundamentalmente en la hoja de cálculo Excel. Como resultado de la investigación los hallazgos indican que, siete atletas se ubicaron en los rangos de bueno y promedio en la prueba, un jugador obtuvo una calificación de pobre, debido posiblemente por la falta de entrenamiento al fatigarse rápidamente durante la realización del test . El VO2 máx. es un indicador clave, en este caso, todos los participantes se encontraron en un rango de excelente y bueno. Estos resultados nos orientan en considerar un trabajo personalizado para mejorar la resistencia aeróbica en el caso antes mencionado, lo cual permitirá en un futuro aportar diseños de entrenamientos con el fin de mejorar la condición física de los futbolistas.
