“…The participants performed the ‘Reading the Mind in the Eyes Test’ (RMET) in the MRI scanner (Baron‐Cohen et al ., ). The test was previously adapted to Brazilian Portuguese (Sanvicente‐Vieira et al ., ), and it has been previously applied in fMRI investigations of mental state attribution in schizophrenia (Russell et al ., ) and alcohol dependence (Gizewski et al ., ). It includes two conditions, namely ‘Mental State’ and ‘Sex.’ The conditions are made up of pictures of pairs of eyes.…”

In fact, Adams et al (2010) showed evidence of better same-versus different-culture mental state decoding from the eyes).…”

“…This is evident even in the case of translations and adaptations of the RMET to various languages (e.g. Sanvicente-Vieira et al, 2014). In their review of the psychometric properties of the RMET, Vellante et al (2013) also highlight that many of the studies do not report any information on the test reliability.…”

“…For convergent validation, the Brazilian version of Reading the Mind in the Eyes Test (RMET) was applied and the correlation between it and the ToM TB was calculated. The RMET consists of 36 figures of eyes and the participant must choose the word that best describes the feeling shown in the figure among four options 5 .…”
