Abstract: BACKGROUND: Insulin resistance (IR) and progressive pancreatic β-cell dysfunction have been identified as the two fundamental features in the pathogenesis of obesity and non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus. “…[10,11] WHtR is suggested to be a useful screening tool for people with high risk of diabetes [11,22] and insulin resistance with maximum AUC value (0.98) for Homeostatic Model Assessment of Insulin Resistance.
