Abstract:Ni 48 Mn 26.4 Ga 19.7 Fe 5.9 microwires with grain size of 1-3 micron were successfully fabricated by melt-extraction. The superelastic effects in the microwires under various temperatures and loads were systematically demonstrated. The as-extracted microwires displayed partial superelasticity when attended at relatively high temperature. The critical stress for stress-induced martensite formation increases linearly with temperature and follows the Clausius-Clapeyron relationship. The temperature dependence of… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
