Development of a bio-based adhesive from Protium heptaphyllum resin

Abstract: In this work, a bio-based adhesive is prepared from Protium heptaphyllum resin. The resin is first characterized by 1 H and 13 C nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and the bioadhesive is then prepared using a simple mixture of the resin with linseed oil, catalyzed by cobalt octanoate, to induce crosslinking.
