Neste trabalho, a… Show more

“…Therefore, it is crucial to first assess the performance of the ECMWF-ERA5 reanalysis data relative to observed data on a seasonal basis. The quality of these data within Brazilian territory remains unknown [ 21 ], particularly for the NEB, which is characterized by high natural climatic variability [ 54 ]. This variability is influenced by atmospheric systems operating on different temporal and spatial scales, including the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), High-Level Cyclonic Vortices (HLV), Frontal Systems (FS), Easterly Wave Disturbances (EWD) and South Atlantic Convergence Zone (SACZ) [ 55 , 56 ].…”

“…Due to the limitation of hourly wind speed and the spatialization of these two variables over the lakes, we used wind speed data from the ERA5 reanalysis . This surface wind speed product has already been validated in Brazil, and other reanalysis products have also been used in studies of climate change impacts over lakes. , …”

“…where T skin is the temperature difference resulting from the cool-skin effect, and u 10 is the wind speed measured at 10 m. Due to the limitation of hourly wind speed and the spatialization of these two variables over the lakes, we used wind speed data from the ERA5 reanalysis. 44 This surface wind speed product has already been validated in Brazil, 45 and other reanalysis products have also been used in studies of climate change impacts over lakes. 14,17 Unidimensional wind velocities (u x − u y ) at 10 m above ground are provided at an hourly frequency on a 0.5 × 0.5°g rid and were downloaded from NCAR's Research Data Archive (https://rda.ucar.edu/datasets/ds633.0/) and pro-…”
