Abstract:RESUMO A ideia de economia monetária desempenhou um papel importante no movimento de Keynes do Tratado sobre o Dinheiro (1930) para a Teoria Geral (1926). Ele estava tentando trabalhar um novo paradigma econômico que, em oposição à lei clássica de Say, pudesse lidar com as flutuações e incertezas do mundo real. O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar as teorias de poupança e finanças de Keynes no Tratado e mostrar a importância da versão de 1936-1937 para o funcionamento de uma economia do mundo real.
