Determinants of success in treating acute ischemic cerebral and ocular ischemia through carotid revascularization. An observational study of a case series

Abstract: Objective: stroke etiology is ischemia in 85%, and in circa 25% of these, the source is the extracranial carotid. Recurrence is frequent and usually more severe. Carotid revascularization prevents new ischemic strokes. The sooner the treatment is undertaken, complete recovery chances are greater with less recurrences.
