Objetivo: encontrar alterações entre os exames laboratoriais de pacientes testados para COVID-19. Metodologia: foi realizado um estudo analítico observacional com militares e seus familiares maiores de 18 anos que foram testados para a COVID-19 e fizeram acompanhamento no Hospital do Policial Militar. Uma análise comparativa foi feita entre dados antropométricos, faixa etária, sexo e os seguintes exames: proteína C reativa (PCR), D-dímero, velocidade de hemossedimentação (VHS), alanina aminotransferase (ALT), aspartato aminotransferase (AST) e lactato desidrogenase (DHL), ferritina, ureia, creatinina, creatinoquinase (CK) e troponina I. Foi feita uma análise do tipo descritiva, com média e desvio padrão, além do teste f e do teste ANOVA com nível de significância (p < 0,05). Resultados: do total de 4.499 pacientes, 2646 (59%) eram do sexo masculino e 3094 (69%) indivíduos tinham RT-PCR não detectado para SARS-CoV-2. A menor média de idade foi do sexo feminino, 28 anos (±13,55) e o maior IMC total, 27.81 (±4.45), ambos no grupo dos detectados/inconclusivos. Ademais, o grupo com RT-PCR detectado/inconclusivo apresentou D-dímero, PCR, AST, ALT, DHL, ferritina e creatinina significativamente mais elevados, do que o grupo não detectado. Conclusão: Foi possível observar uma relação significativa entre obesidade, COVID-19, sexo masculino e idade avançada (acima de 51 anos) com a elevação dos valores dos exames laboratoriais (p<0.05).

The COVID-19 pandemic declared in March 2020 by the World Health Organization (WHO) challenged the health system of several countries with the growing number of infected people. During the pandemic's peak in Europe, the low incidence of infection in South Korea drew the international community's attention, since not long ago that country was considered the epicenter of the pandemic outside its origin, in China. The mass testing protocol and tracing policies were pointed out as the formula for South Korean success, however, in view of the high demand and little supply of diagnostic tests for COVID-19 in the market, this strategy proved to be unfeasible to be implemented mainly in countries with large populations and with few financial resources, such as Brazil. There is also the aggravating factor regarding the effectiveness of the tests currently available, especially the rapid serology test with a high rate of false negatives. In order to offer a screening method for the application of tests, this work aims to develop a predictive model for assisting the identification of COVID-19 infection in suspected patients based on data from clinical laboratory examinations, such as blood count and urine tests. The data used comes from three sources in Sao Paulo and are hosted in the COVID-19 Data Sharing/BR Repository, a shared database of Sao Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP). The work also proposes a comparison between balanced × imbalanced dataset and traditional × ensemble algorithms for this problem.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), COVID-19 is a viral disease transmitted from person to person, which has the fastest spread in the world. OBJECTIVE: This project aimed to analyze epidemiological aspects of COVID-19 in the municipality of Gurupi/TO. METHODOLOGY: The research was conducted by consulting the epidemiological bulletin of COVID-19 made available daily by VISAE, from March 16, 2020, to May 15, 2021, where we identified the evolution of positive cases, deaths, and gender identification of this population, and analysis of literature review on the subject. RESULTS: Of the 10,336 positive cases, 5,570 (53.89%) of the cases are female, 194 (7.13%) evolved to deaths, of these 70 (36.08%) were female and 124 (63.92%) were male. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: From the results, it is visible the reduction in the numbers of positive cases for COVID-19 from April 2021, which can be taken into consideration the measures adopted through the Municipal Decrees, and in part to the beginning of the immunization process. Thus, the continuity of prophylaxis measures is essential for the control of the high chain of transmission in the municipality.
