Use of transfer factor in immunosuppressed surgical patients

Abstract: Objective : to evaluate the action of Transfer Factor on the immune response of patients with malignant neoplasm submitted to surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Method: we analyzed the variations of leukocytes, total lymphocytes, T-lymphocytes and CD4 counts in 60 patients submitted to immunostimulation with a single, daily dose of 0.5mg sublingual Transfer Factor, started simultaneously with chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy. Results: there were statistically significant increases in the counts of al… Show more

“…Thus, combats to this tumor type have objective of making T-lymphocytes active and competent [53,54]. It is obvious that TF stimulate leukocytes activation, total lymphocytes and their subclasses, leading to immune response induction [34].…”

“…Then VIP were calculated from OPLS-DA regression and used to identify which peaks mainly contribute to the difference among different time intervals. The OPLS-DA result shows that Peaks 1,6,9,10,11,13,14,19,21, and 22 had high VIP value (>1), which means a relatively larger contribution to the difference. The volcano plot for the OPLS-DA result can be seen in Figure 3B…”

“…It is a lymphocyte extract of low molecular weight, capable of transferring antigen-specific information to T-lymphocytes. Since TF was first described by Lawrence in the early 1950s [4][5][6], many clinical reports indicated that it could modulate the immune system [7][8][9][10][11][12]. In China, various preparations of TF are widely employed in clinical, as adjuvant or primary therapy for viral, parasitic, fungal, and some bacterial infections, as well as immunodeficiencies, neoplasias, allergies, and autoimmune diseases.…”

“…Many clinical reports have established that TFs could function as a tool for prevention allowing immunity transfer prior to infections [4,8]. It has been indicated by several clinical experiments that TFs can modulate immune systems [9][10][11]. Pizza et al [12] and Roda et al [13] have con rmed that the effectiveness of TFs in the treatment of viral hepatitis.…”
