Pyomelanin biosynthetic pathway in pigment-producer strains from the pandemic Acinetobacter baumannii IC-5

Abstract: BACKGROUND Acinetobacter baumannii outbreaks have been associated with pandemic International Clones (ICs), but the virulence factors involved with their pathogenicity are sparsely understood.
