Spatial analysis on tuberculosis and the network of primary health care

Abstract: Objective: to analyze the spatial distribution of new cases of tuberculosis compared to the location of the Primary Healthcare Units that performed the compulsory notification. Method: ecological study conducted in Belém, Pará, with 5,294 new cases of tuberculosis notified to Sistema de Informação de Agravos de Notificação for the period from 2010 to 2014. The cases were georeferenced using the software applications ArcGis 10.2 and TerraView 4.2.2. The techniques of Kernel density and global Moran geostatistic… Show more

“…Currently, studies that seek to identify the relationship between diseases and geographic space have demonstrated their importance in the scientific world, with practical applications, by means of the health service managers, although the use of geotechnologies and spatial analysis techniques is still uncommon 35 . Thus, it is of great importance to understand the dynamics of the disease in space, in order to enable the development of health surveillance actions as well as control strategies, aiming at early diagnosis and correct treatment and, thus, making it possible to break the chain of transmission.…”

“…This result of this study was not in line with previous studies which stated that the environmental temperature of each sub-district had an average temperature which did not meet the requirements, with a temperature of > 30°C. It showed the effect between the incidence of BTA (+) pulmonary tuberculosis with environmental temperature [12,29]. Environmental temperature was not the only risk factor for the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis.…”

“…Ao verificar a distribuição espacial dos casos de TB, no período de 2010 a 2014, percebe-se uma semelhança na concentração entre os bairros periféricos, da mesma forma que a COVID-19. Enfatiza-se que as iniquidades sociais potencializam as doenças que necessitam de medidas sanitárias de distanciamento social e um efetivo rastreamento dos casos pela APS (LEAL et al, 2019;SESPA, 2020).…”
