A Retomada dos Guaiamuns: pesca artesanal, infraestrutura neoextrativista e renascimento ecológico quilombola na Baía de Todos os Santos

Abstract

TThe article is an ethnographic exercise of fishing for blue land crab (Cardisoma ganhumi) in the mangroves of Baía de Todos os Santos. Taking as a reference the ways of living and inhabiting this crustacean and the gaiamunzeiros that capture them as a fishing activity, it aims to describe the effects of neoextractivism in the fishing landscapes of the region. The intention is, on the one hand, to show practices, habitability and landscapes associated with blue land crab fishing and, on the other hand, to offer a description of conflicts and impacts arising from agropastoral and oil infrastructures in their territories and ways of life. Thus, the article also aims to contribute to the public debate on the regulatory framework for blue land crab fisheries, reinforcing the importance of the participation of gaiamunzeiros and quilombola artisanal fishermen in decision-making on the preservation of the species and protection of their living environments.
