“…These two items are in the original SQLS. Their correlations with the total score of the motivation and energy domain in the SQLS were moderate-to-good (r = 0.67, 0.68) in the UK English version [3], but only fair (r = 0.39, 0.34) in the Japanese version [7]. The relatively low item-total correlations of these two items in the Japanese version of the SQLS and Chinese version of the SQLS-R4 may suggest that these two items were perceived differently from the vitality construct in Asian cultures.…”

It has been translated into Japanese and tested [7]. The SQLS has gone through several revisions to improve its psychometric properties.…”

Schizophrenia Quality of Life Scale (SQLS; Wilkinson et al, 2000) Japanese Version (Kaneda et al, 2002) and Quality of Life Scale (QLS; Heinrichs et al, 1984) Japanese Version were used for evaluating subjective and objective QOLs, respectively. The hospitalization periods of the most of the inpatients were prolonged due to their familial and/or social circumstances, and their symptom levels were considered almost the same as those of outpatients.…”
