BackgroundRheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients are at risk of acquiring drug-related problems (DRPs). However, there has been a lack of studies on DRPs in patients with RA up to now.MethodThis retrospective study was conducted in a tertiary hospital in Malaysia from January 2012 to December 2017 with the purpose of assessing DRPs in RA patients and factors associated with its occurrence. A total of 200 patients who had received pharmacological treatment for RA were enrolled in this study. Assessment of DRPs was based on the Pharmaceutical Network Care Europe tool version 5.01.ResultsA total of 289 DRPs with an average of 1.5±1.0 problems per patient were identified, in which 78.5% of the population had at least one DRP. The most common DRPs encountered were adverse reactions (38.8%), drug interactions (33.6%), and drug-choice problems (14.5%). Factors that had significant association with the occurrence of DRPs were polypharmacy (P=0.003), multiple comorbidities (P=0.001), hyperlipidemia (P=0.009), osteo (P=0.040), and renal impairment (P=0.044). These data indicated that the prevalence of DRPs was high among RA patients.ConclusionEarly identification of types of DRPs and associated factors may enhance the prevention and management of RA.

Objective: To fine out fatigue frequency and severity by FACIT-F scale in Pakistani cohort with rheumatoid arthritis. Methods: This study was conducted at department of Medicine division of rheumatology CPMC Lahore. After the approval of IRB, 192 patients of RA were recruited. Written, informed consent was taken, demographic details were noted, patients filled the URDU version of FACIT-F (fatigue severity scale). 5-ml of blood was taken for fasting blood sugar, viral markers and ESR by a trained phlebotomist. Each individual’s disease activity was assessed by DAS-28 and FACIT-F score was calculated. Results: The Mean age (39.9±10.5) years, (71.9%) were females. Fatigue frequency was 62% (n=126), age, education, hypertension, DAS-28, exercise levels and HCV gives significant association with fatigue score. Linear regression analysis, results showed one unit increase in DAS-28 will gives 2.71 unit increases in fatigue scores(P <0.05). A Ultrassonografia nos últimos anos tem se tornado uma importante ferramenta nos consultórios de Reumatologia, tanto no auxílio diagnóstico como no acompanhamento evolutivo das doenças inflamatórias reumáticas. Este artigo tem como objetivo avaliar o uso da Ultrassonografia para diagnóstico de Artrite Reumatoide (AR) inicial em consultório de reumatologia, bem como estudar os principais achados ecográficos nos pacientes com suspeita clínica de AR inicial. Foram analisados exames de ultrassonografia de mãos e punhos de pacientes com suspeita de Artrite Reumatoide inicial, pelo Protocolo US-10, realizados na Clínica de Reumatologia Toledo (Toledo-PR) no segundo semestre de 2018, por meio de revisão de laudos e imagens ultrassonográficas e análise de dados de prontuários.
