“…Total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is one of the most commonly used methods for the treatment of advanced knee osteoarthritis (KOA) [ 1 ] as well as one of the most common elective surgeries in the USA [ 2 ]. It can effectively relieve pain, restore knee joint function, and improve quality of life, posture, and balance [ 3 , 4 ]. Nevertheless, the potential postoperative complications following TKA, such as infection, pain, venous thrombosis, and fracture, are cause for concern for both surgeons and patients; therefore, it is necessary to control and reduce the incidence of these complications [ 5 ].…”

“…Therefore, the imminent demand for TKA reinforces the importance of analyzing indications, patient populations, comorbidities, and outcomes. [5] Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disorder affecting millions of people worldwide. [6,7] The disease is caused by the decrease in the dopaminergic activity in the nigro striatal pathway, leading to not only classical motor symptoms such as rigidity, bradykinesia, tremor, and postural instability, but also a range of non-motor features including autonomic, cognitive, psychiatric, and behavioral dysfunctions.…”
