Abstract: Wavelength-tunable lasers, detectors, and optical filters are expected to play a pivotal role in the future ultrahigh bandwidth dense-wavelength-division-multiplexed (DWDM) optical networks, enabling revolutionary new applications such as wavelength-on-demand in a reconfigurable all-optical network.
